Should Lindsey Vonn do Dancing with the Stars season 26?

Dancing with the Stars

The idea of Lindsey Vonn doing Dancing with the Stars season 26 is obviously something that we’d thought about years ago — and apparently, so did some of Twitter.

Earlier this month, there was actually a rather amusing sequence of events that unfolded when Vonn, who is tremendous in the Twitter game, fired back at someone who claimed that she was terrible at taking criticism on Dancing with the Stars … even though she’d never actually been on the show. That led to a rather funny series of tweets were other users pretended that Vonn did things that she actually didn’t do, whether it be star in big-budget movies or appear on other shows.

Of course, all of this did still have us thinking: Why hasn’t Lindsey Vonn done Dancing with the Stars in the past? It may have just been schedule at some points, especially when you consider her injury back in 2014 and the focus that she’s had on her sport the majority of her career. We do think that after all of these jokes, though, now would be the right time to do it. It’s a chance to build more of an audience for herself and she’s the sort of Star that producers would really love to have — she’s already a household name regardless of her medal count this year, and beyond that she’s certainly also been in the headlines for her political stance. While we’ve been against straight-up politicians being on the show in the past, it’s a little different if it’s just a celebrity with an opinion. All of us have those, and it especially takes bravery within the athletic community to state it.

As for how well she would actually do, we can easily imagine her making it into the top four or five. She wouldn’t have the natural musicality of someone who is a figure skater, but she’s clearly athletic and would be able to handle the rigors of training.
