Legends of Tomorrow season 3 episode 11 preview: Zari’s time-loop episode

Legends of Tomorrow season 3 episode 11

When Legends of Tomorrow season 3 episode 11 airs on The CW in one weeks’ time, you’re going to see Zari in a very specific, interesting place — stuck in a time loop. We’ve certainly seen episodes like this before on Dark Matter and other shows over time, but there is something rather fun about them.  They allow the writers to be creative and have a lot of fun with the story. Beyond that, they’re also smart episodes mostly in that they can be filmed in a singular location with a very small budget. This probably helps to make other episodes a little bit bigger and epic — the show’s probably also saving a little cash just not having Firestorm effects on the series anymore.

As for how this time loop comes about in the first place, the Legends of Tomorrow season 3 episode 11 synopsis below offers up some insight:

FINDING YOUR PLACE – After the team returns from a mission, Zari (Tala Ashe) finds herself trapped in a time loop that results in the Waverider blowing up over and over again. Zari soon begins to suspect that the answer to stop what is happening might lie hidden among her fellow shipmates’ secrets. But in investigating them she starts to understand her place on the team. Caity Lotz, Brandon Routh, Dominc Purcell, Nick Zano, Maise Richardson-Sellers, Nick Zano and Keiynan Lonsdale also stars. Ben Bray directed the episode written by Ray Utarnachitt & Morgan Faust (#311). Original airdate 2/19/2018.

There is clearly one part of this synopsis that stands out — Lonsdale being mentioned as a part of the main cast for the first time. This isn’t necessarily a guarantee that Wally West will actually appear on the show this week, but he is now being considered a main part of the Legends for the remainder of the season. We’ll see if that ends up lasting for the remainder of the season but we hope so; given some of the work he used to do at least racing cars on The Flash, we feel like eventually he could become a the ship’s new mechanic and a replacement for Jax in that sense. We are still going to miss Jax on the show; we love Wally as well, but it would’ve been nice to find a way to include both characters in some shape or form.
