Hawaii Five-0 season 8 episode 16 return date for CBS drama
First, let’s get the most important details out of the way: Friday, March 2 is the Hawaii Five-0 season 8 episode 16, just like it is with MacGyver airing beforehand. CBS is going to give America a break from the adventures of McGarrett and Danny, at least in terms of new episodes, during the Winter Olympics. There will still be some repeats that air during that time, so that may be worthwhile viewing depending on if you’ve missed any episodes along the way.
What we’d say in terms of the schedule ahead this season is this: You better be prepared to watch new episodes almost every Friday from then until May. If there are 24 or 25 episodes this season, there could be episodes that run straight through (with a break in March for the NCAA Tournament) until May 11 or May 18. If there are only 23 episodes this season, it’s possible that the show could wrap up this season on May 4 — though that could be pushed back with a repeat somewhere along the way. All for this at the moment is speculative, but the important thing to note is that there is still a lot of season still to come. That’s important when you think about all of the different stories that are still worthy of some exploration in this world, whether it be the continued plans of Steve and Danny to open the restaurant or getting a chance to see more of newcomers Tani Rey and Junior Reigns. We still wonder how canon a possible wedding between the two characters could be — it’s something that exists within Danny’s dreamworld and we certainly wouldn’t be mad about it if it happens.
So what’s the one thing we do want to see with Hawaii Five-0 more so than anything else? How about a season 9 renewal? Hopefully, that is something that CBS will confirm at some point within the next month or two. The ratings are there, and our experience with this season is that it’s been fairly well-received.
