Criminal Minds season 13 episode 15 return date
Let’s start here with the bad — you’re going to have to wait more than a month to see the series, starring Paget Brewster, Joe Mantegna, and many others, back on the air. The show is returning to CBS on Wednesday, March 7 at 10:00 p.m. Eastern time. Why so late? There are two different reasons for that, starting with the Winter Olympics airing over the course of the next few weeks — with the exception of next week, which CBS is using to launch Big Brother: Celebrity Edition. The other issue here is that even on the other side of the Olympics, CBS is still putting Criminal Minds on ice for another week due to the two-hour premiere of Survivor: Ghost Island bumping back the launch of another new show in SEAL Team.
Given that there is such a long break in between episodes for Criminal Minds, the biggest thing we’re hoping for is just viewer retention. Over a month is a long time to ask viewers to wait, especially for a procedural that doesn’t often have much of an ongoing story. Luckily Criminal Minds does seem to have one going now, but that’s a relative rarity for them. The show’s ratings are decent enough to probably earn another season, but there’s no real reason to tempt fate.
Here’s the good news — when Criminal Minds does come back, you are going to get the rest of the season fairly uninterrupted. Because of Code Black launching in the show’s timeslot at the start of May, CBS is going to need to run Criminal Minds almost straight through just to make sure it is wrapped up in time. That’s great when it comes to getting viewers hooked again on the story, especially if there is some sort of serialized component that is there. We hope that the writers keep the stakes high and there continues to be a ton of interesting UnSubs. Criminal Minds is a show that requires good cases-of-the-week, but there does need to be a little something more bubbling beneath the surface. Hopefully, the writers have that balance.
