Chicago PD season 5: All eyes on Voight

When is Chicago PD returning following its present hiatus? For those of you wanting to know the answer to this question, we do come bearing what is a reasonably-simple answer: You’ll have a chance to see the NBC series starting on January 31. This episode will be the first of two episodes that are coming before the series embarks on what is an Olympic-themed hiatus.

We do think that both in the January 31 episode and the one that follows are some very interesting subjects of conversation — especially when it comes to Voight. The January 31 episode is entitled “Chasing Monsters,” and you could very well argue that Voight is, in his own way, very much a monster. We are referring here to some of the habits that he has formed as a vigilante over the years, which include him killing needlessly and coming up with his own way to do away with people he considers to be problem criminals. He may think that he’s doing the right thing by ensuring that they don’t fall through the cracks of the system, but by no means does that mean he actually is. Instead, it’s more that he is just fulfilling a need.

Ultimately, we’re very concerned for Voight’s future given that there is only going to be so long that he can walk away from some of what he’s done before he’s found out. Also, Denny Woods is still breathing down his neck.

Beyond this episode, one of the things that we can pass along in regards to the upcoming February 7 episode, otherwise known as the last one before the Winter Olympics begin, is the title: “Sisterhood.” What this is a reference to remains to be seen, but we’d love for it to be a spotlight on some of the female characters working together — or just a story about family in general that moves Intelligence in a way that they rarely are.
