Timeless season 2 premiere date and our first reactions
The network confirmed on Monday that the Abigail Spencer led time travel series is going to be premiering on Sunday, March 11 at 10:00 p.m. Eastern time, following a lengthy American Ninja Warrior special. Timeless will follow starting on March 18 a lineup that includes Little Big Shots and then Genius Junior, a new game-show hosted by Neil Patrick Harris.
What we like about the Timeless season 2 premiere date at present is rather simple: That we have one. It’s been a really long wait and as a result of that, we’re just happy that we’re getting the show back on the air.

What we’re concerned about, however, is the same thing that we were concerned about with season 1: Airing it at 10:00 p.m., especially on a Sunday where many families go to bed early in hopes of starting the work week off right. Timeless is a series that appeals heavily to family viewers with its sense of adventure and imagination; airing it so late is a challenge. The good news is that there isn’t a whole lot of serious competition in this timeslot save for Madam Secretary, which appeals to a much older audience.
Hopefully, new viewers find a way to discover the series and, to go along with that, fans of the first season do find a way to watch live. Given how much we were forced to sweat out the season 2 renewal over at NBC, the last thing that we want to see is another nail-biter when it comes to a season 3 renewal. If the series has a great first four or five weeks on the air, we’ll feel a little more comfortable that it won’t have to get canceled and un-canceled this year.
The new season is going to pick up (presumably) not long after where season 1 left off, with Lucy (Spencer) learning that her mother (Susanna Thompson) is a member of the secret organization Rittenhouse and with that in mind there is so much for fans to be excited about.
