NCIS: Los Angeles season 9: Where is the Kensi – Deeks wedding planning?

Mrs. Carter: There is a pretty major mystery out there when it comes to NCIS: Los Angeles season 9, and it has to do with the Kensi – Deeks wedding … or, should we say, the lack of a Densi wedding.

Are these two going to be tying the knot in the near future? CarterMatt would love to say that they are, and we’ve even written some articles over time debating that subject. Yet, unfortunately it doesn’t seem as though there is a wedding coming in the near future, largely because there’s been very little talk when it comes to wedding planning at the moment.

What gives there? Is CBS trying to push that wedding as far down the road as humanly possible? Maybe, but that doesn’t explain the lack of updates still. We’ve tried to come up with some reasoning, at least as of right now, for what producers are doing.

1. Focusing on some other story – Obviously, at the moment it makes sense for the wedding to not be in the forefront. This is a show presently focusing on the search for Hetty, and we don’t foresee things shifting too far from that in the immediate future.

2. They’re saving something special for down the road – This is what we obviously hope is going on, mostly because we need a big Densi episode at some point before the end of the season. Maybe the show gets deep into wedding planning for one single episode as opposed to scattering it out over the course of several weeks.

3. Using this as incentive for a season 10 renewal – As of right now the show doesn’t have that order for additional episodes — we consider it to be close to a sure thing, but isn’t promising a big TV event like a wedding between these two characters further incentive for the producers to hold off? If they do keep the wedding on ice until the fall, what that means in turn is that you’re going to have an opportunity to focus on some other things in the immediate future. There isn’t as much of a reason to rush the wedding planning along.
