Ink Master season 10: Will drama between Chris Sparks, DJ Tambe unfold?

Christ Sparks on Ink Master season 10 is basically going only by name Sparks — basically, he is the show’s version of Madonna or Cher. One name, and one name only. He doesn’t need more than that!

Sparks (pictured bottom left in the photo above) is one of the more interesting contestants this season for a couple of different reasons. For starters, he’s one of the more-prominent Ink Master: Angels winners to have made it into the top 18 alongside Deanna Smith and Daniel Silva. Beyond just that, he also just so happens to be (fitting, given his name) one of the biggest lightning rods on the show this season. We’re looking at a guy here who has a ton of confidence in himself and doesn’t really spend a lot of his time listening to some of the feedback of others. He also seems to be getting into it with his own coach DJ Tambe — remember the preview for tonight’s new episode?

For those wondering a little bit more information about Sparks away from the show, what you should know is this — he works at Electric Rodeo Tattoo out of Austin, and if you head over here you can see a little bit more about him — including his portfolio. Sparks does a lot of Star Wars tattoos and a lot of other geeky stuff — in terms of style, he’s probably one of the contestants this season we’d get along with the best outside of the show. He’s not just your typical hyper-aggressive Ink Master guy who screams and fights with people, though there may be a little bit of conflict here and there along the way.

As for where Sparks stands out on Team DJ as a whole, we’d say that, for now, he’s the wild card of the group. We know that he’s super-talented from his time on Angels, but he doesn’t come into the show with the same amount of acclaim as a Josh Payne and he wasn’t as highly-rated in the first challenge as Matt Buck or Deanna Smith. He’s a little bit more of an underdog, and in some ways he may be able to take advantage of that.
