Outlander season 4 scene airing on Starz January 14
Here is what Starz had to say in a press release on the subject today:
“In anticipation of the upcoming season four return of STARZ Original series “Outlander,” Starz is filling the “Droughtlander” void among viewers with a preview of the brand new season. First, fans can relive the big moments of season three that found Claire and Jamie separated for over 20 years, and leading up to their epic reunion and beyond, by binge watching all 13 episodes of the third season starting at 9:05AM ET/PT and watch it all culminate to the broadcast of an exclusive first-look at a scene from the season four premiere episode at 10PM ET/PT on Sunday, January 14th only on STARZ. Season four of “Outlander” is currently shooting on location in Scotland and will air later this year.”
Basically, you need be watching right at 10:00 p.m. Eastern in the event that you want to be able to check out this scene live.
In a word, CarterMatt would describe this marketing move from Starz as pretty brilliant. They want to ensure that they keep as many subscribers as possible in order for them to check out Counterpart premiering on January 21. This may renew enough subscriptions to help get the foot in the door there. For those who don’t have Starz and don’t have any intention of picking it up, remember that this isn’t really coming at a loss. This is something new Starz is doing this year!
This will hopefully serve as a nice-enough teaser to tide everyone over from now until the show releases some other content, which will likely be a little bit later this year. Starz has plenty of time to release other tidbits, and they are aided by the fact that the show is already several months into production.
