Chicago Med season 3 episode 6 review: Who got suspended?
In the event of one case, though, it led to a doctor getting suspended.
Based on the events of this past episode, it was pretty easy to telegraph just what was going to be coming up — Dr. Reese had just purchased pepper spray on this past episode of the show, and over the course of the hour tonight what we saw from her was her getting increasingly uneasy with a patient who believed he was radioactive.
This is where things from a writing point of view proved to be really smart. It seemed for a long time like the easy assumption was that it was this patient who would lead to Reese being sent away from the hospital. However, what actually happened was that it was Dr. Choi’s patient who caused her trouble. He was someone who, for most of the episode, acted like he was a possible hypochondriac, there to get attention from the doctors. Ethan couldn’t figure out what was wrong with him, so after sending in Dr. Reese, he freaked out over the notion of a psychiatrist coming in to see him. He got in her face, she pepper-sprayed him, and that was all she wrote for her time at the hospital for now.
Clearly, she’ll be back given that Sarah wasn’t fired. It probably helps her cause significantly that were it not for her spraying this guy, he wouldn’t have underwent the scan that actually revealed the problem with his spleen.
Now, Reese is gone from the hospital … but it just so turns out at the same time that this is not the only major departure that happened over the course of the hour.
Farewell, Robin Charles
We said goodbye tonight to the Robin character because of her decision that so long as she was in Chicago, she was not going to get better. There were too many bad memories and she felt more like Connor’s patient than a real girlfriend. It was too much for her. Leaving the way that she did (via a handwritten note) was somewhat cruel, but we also understand it. If this was the only way she could figure out how to leave, then that’s what she had to do. It’s onwards and upwards for her now.
Yet, this departure also led to some tension between Dr. Charles (who chose not to tell Connor about her departure at her request) and Rhodes, who seems to be making it his mission to get her back.
Other odds and ends
Well, it looks as though Maggie has come up with an idea to bring in more paramedics to the hospital, which in turn could lead to more business and then more nurses. She’s set up a game room with pizza for them! Sure, it’s bribery, but a little bribery didn’t hurt anyone, right?
This was a relatively light week on the Halstead / Manning front, with them mostly helping a pair of expecting parents fulfill their dream with help from Connor and others. Oh, and they also debated basketball.

Final Verdict
While Chicago Med season 3 episode 6 wasn’t the biggest episode for some, it was life-changing for others. This is an hour of TV that will probably be remembered for many different reasons, with at the top of the list being changing Sarah, Connor, and of course Robin’s lives forever.
