Will Lovesick season 4 renewal happen at Netflix?
At the moment, it seems as though the odds of there being a Lovesick season 4 are fairly slim for at least the immediate future. The British comedy’s stars all have other work elsewhere, and as a result of that this suddenly becomes a situation where you have to start figuring out if everyone is available at the same exact time. Beyond that, there are some other concerns including trying to figure out if there is still story left to tell, and then getting the support of the broadcasters. There are a lot of boxes to check, and the unfortunate thing about the premiere of Lovesick season 3 stateside is that there really was not all that much in the way of promotion for it leading up to it premiering on Netflix. It’s rather difficult to see the show getting a ton of viewers for the new episodes without anyone being aware that it’s even on — especially on New Year’s Day, given that this is not exactly a time in which most people are aware of new programming.
If you do want to find a way to put a positive spin/silver lining on this somehow, you can say that Lovesick did get three seasons, which is more than many British comedies receive. Just look at the original version of The Office or Fawlty Towers. These shows only ran for a couple of seasons and are still considered classics. Having a fairly limited run across the pond is not exactly something that should be considered a complete failure, especially when there are some other opportunities that could come your way as a result of doing the show. As mentioned, it seems as though some of the Lovesick cast members have already reaped some of the benefits.
