The Bachelor spotlight: Meet Jessica Carroll, on-camera host with red carpet experience

Jessica Carroll

Jessica Carroll is one of those people on The Bachelor where you look at their social media and are immediately surprised. We mentioned this with Bri earlier this month, but Jessica already has some sort of a following going into the show. She works as a red-carpet host, and with that she’s already verified on Instagram and has a hosting reel that you can check out below. She’s also done a lot of work on YouTube creating newsworthy beauty content.

In some ways, Jessica is almost a rarity for Bachelor casting: A young woman living in Los Angeles who obviously wants to use the show to benefit her career. Usually they are a little more subtle about it. Note that we don’t blame Jessica at all for this — she probably does want love to go along with more Instagram followers. That’s what we don’t get about some of the people who go on and on about people being on the show for fame — if you didn’t want fame you wouldn’t be on the show. The people you want to root for are the ones who want the fame but are also open to love. Hopefully, that’s the case here with Jessica.

The hard thing about spotlighting her as a contestant is knowing who the real person is aside from Host Jessica — someone with her own clear personality and voice. There are still a few things about her bio we find interesting, starting with the fact that Jessica is actually from Calgary originally, making her the first Canadian we’ve run into in our spotlights this year! She also does frequent charity work building homes for families in Mexico and she has this gem of a line: “Kissing is my favorite food.” It doesn’t make a whole lot of sense but we’ll give her credit for actually putting it out there.

One thing we’ve also figured out about Jessica — she loves fitness. A ton of her Instagram photos are all fitness oriented in some way.

Will she work with Arie Luyendyk Jr.? – That all depends on what he’s looking for in a partner. If he does want a glamorous life in Los Angeles where he constantly stays in the spotlight, it’d certainly benefit him to gravitate towards someone with a career already in that field. Yet, if he doesn’t necessarily want that we foresee this being a quick exit for Jessica. He may judge her right away as someone from Los Angeles looking to boost her profile and let the optics get in the way of anything else relationship-wise. That’s the sort of ridiculous way-too-on-the-nose reasoning that we see on The Bachelor sometimes when men don’t give their potential contestants a chance based on one superficial thing or another.
