Vikings season 5 episode 10 will be biggest to date, per Alex Høgh Andersen

Vikings season 5 episode 10 airing early next year will be the midseason finale — based on what Alex Høgh Andersen is saying about it, this is one of those episodes that could end up melting your face off your skull.

In a new interview with Bustle, Andersen (a CarterMatt Awards nominee in the field of Underrated Actor) had the following to say regarding some of the chaos that is coming up:

“People should just watch [Vikings], because it’s going to get even bigger, and bigger and bigger … I was so fortunate to see the last episode of [this half of the] season, Episode 10, and that is the best one I’ve seen so far on Vikings. It’s absolutely tremendous.”

Much of what Andersen says here goes along perfectly with much of the buzz we’ve heard so far about the end of the season, including that it’s big, dramatic, intense, and of the sort of scale you only tend to see on such shows as Game of Thrones. This is the sort of ending to the season — or at least half a season — that Vikings fans deserve. It’s also the sort of thing that is going to get more viewers watching if they hear about it in advance. Even though we know it’s five seasons along and it has a devoted audience, it still feels like Vikings could be an even bigger show than it is if enough people heard about it. Viking history may not be the sort of stuff most American viewers know, but they really don’t need to in order to dive into this world and some of the characters.

The big thing that we’re feeling as we get closer to the end of the first half of season 5 is this: Ivar is going to be tested like never before. Andersen’s character has seen a quick rise to power thanks to his military acumen and his ability to be ruthless at a time in which few others will. Yet, this man is vulnerable still just like any other — there are going to be ways to take him down, and some of his rivals are able to read more of the (metaphorical) book on him. It’s a little easier to take people down when they don’t know what to expect from you.
