The Originals season 5 will stage huge Daniel Gillies episode

For those of you who love The Originals and are also enormous Daniel Gillies fans, we come bearing some news that should be right up your alley. There’s a big episode coming up later this season that is all about the Elijah character! This will be a chance understand even more of who he is as a person now, and to go along with that try to get more of a sense as to where he could be going. When you consider the massive time jump that we’re on at the moment, it makes some sense that there would be some big questions in need of answers.

If you do want to get a little more information on that subject, rest assured we’ve got it! Take a look below at what executive producer Julie Plec had to say to TV Guide. We like to think that this will absolutely start to get you pumped up on the story that’s coming:

“Three episodes in, we actually get an episode that is Elijah from start to finish, and it’s the first time we’ve ever done that … We get to see where Elijah left off in that episode so long ago, and what he’s been doing in the seven years that’s passed.”

There is absolutely every reason in the world to be excited about this episode, mostly because of the fact that Gillies could easily anchor this or any other show. That’s one of the tremendously-fun things about The Originals as a series; it’s one of those rare programs where if you put any one character at the center of it there’s a good chance that it’s going to deliver. These are all characters strong and independent enough to lead their own spin-off series, not that we really get the sense that something in this vein is coming other than the Hope idea that’s already been bandied about.

There’s no The Originals season 5 premiere date at the moment but hopefully, we’ll have more news on that in the weeks ahead.
