Scorpion season 4 episode 12 dips into an alternate universe

Scorpion season 4 episode 12 is coming your way shortly on CBS and all indications suggest that it will be a lot of fun. “A Christmas Car-Roll” is the final episode of the year and in addition to being a holiday episode, it’s also going to be one where Walter O’Brien is forced to figure out some of what his life would be like if Team Scorpion never came about.

In the sneak peek that CarterMatt has for you below, you get a small taste of how Sylvester would be if he had gone down a different path — suffice it to say, it’s interesting. From one vantage point, Sylvester’s life is better — he’s got a ton of money and almost-unlimited resources. Yet, he’s also become a bit of a tool bag. He’s running some high-end game development studio, has a chauffeur, and also wears ridiculous red glasses that make him look like he is really trying to be cyclops. It’s fun in a way since this is a very different sort of Sylvester than what we’ve seen before — that’s a big part of what makes this episode so memorable! You’re getting to see characters step outside themselves in Walter’s alternate reality — which seems to come about as a result of a head injury.

While Happy’s personality doesn’t seem to have changed all that much within this timeline, you do also get a sense that she would be the host of some sort of mechanic-based series. She’s somewhat of a celebrity, at least within her own sphere.

One of the issues that we feel like this episode will address is what it means to truly be happy with yourself. After all, it may seem in this episode as though many members of Team Scorpion are more successful in this alternate world than they are in their actual lives. Yet, how do you quantify success? Is it really a good thing to be rolling in money when you aren’t doing any good for the world? What makes Team Scorpion so valuable is that they are the unsung heroes of society — they do great things for others regardless of whether or not they get any credit for it.
