Scorpion season 4 photo: Meet Shantel VanSanten’s Amy

Shantel VanSanten's Amy

Shantel VanSanten’s Amy looks to be one of the new characters entering the Scorpion season 4 world, and she’s going to bring trouble with her.

The first photo of the character (see below) comes via TVLine, and this character will prove herself almost immediately to be an interesting part of the show’s world. After all, Amy is not just a geneticist, but she has a romantic history with Toby that could play out in some interesting ways on the show itself. The two broke up over his gambling addiction and while he may not hold a candle for her anymore, that does not mean that he is entirely free of her influence. She may still be able to reinforce some opinions on him and that, in turn, could cause problems between him and Happy.

There is also another wrinkle in this story that could prove interesting: Amy is now married to Quincy Berkstead and given how Toby feels about him, that could complicate his feelings. Even if he doesn’t have feelings for Amy anymore, he may be less than thrilled to see her with someone he doesn’t like.

VanSanten is filming this arc on Scorpion in between the time needed for her to be on Shooter — the USA drama was recently renewed for a third season, and filming for these new episodes should start up before too long. That show is likely going to premiere next summer and will (hopefully) pick up not too long after the abbreviated second season concluded.

If you are not a fan of Shooter, you may also remember VanSanten for playing Patty Spivot on The Flash. (Side note: Even if we do root for WestAllen, we do miss Patty and wish there was a different way to integrate her into the show … or at least to see her again. She has to be pretty well trained in CSI work at this point.)

You will see Shantel in action on Scorpion in the new year — there are two more episodes to go before that, and that includes the new episode airing tonight and a Christmas-themed one on December 18. If you want to read some more news about that all you have to do is head over to the link here.
