Supernatural season 13 fall finale: Show boss on Sam, Dean’s new location
In speaking on this subject to TVLine, executive producer Andrew Dabb had the following to say about what we saw in the closing minutes of the episode:
“I think the imagery is about right. We’ve seen an alternate world once already this year in apocalypse world, which is pretty much like our world, but an apocalypse happened to it. The world Sam and Dean go into at the end of Episode 9 is something much different, something much more alien. We’ve seen in Episode 9, and we will continue to see in Episode 10, the things that are there are bigger and badder and weirder and grosser than anything we’ve seen on Supernatural proper. It’s essentially an alien planet. That’s how we’re kind of treating it, and the big footprint is just the tip of the iceberg.”
When Supernatural season 13 returns you’re going to have a chance to see some of these stories play out, and there is some excitement that goes along with that just because it’s new and it’s different. After more than a dozen years on the air how often that you can try something to push the envelope. It’s different from the Apocalypse world, and the question that we’re left to wonder here is this: How many different worlds can Supernatural explore before it starts to become like Arrow and the entire superhero universe?
Overall, Supernatural season 13 has been a very fun, enjoyable thrill ride so far — while we were a little bit nervous going into the season about the presence of Jack and the alternate worlds, most of it has worked so far. (Who knows? Maybe the universe where Sam and Dean meet Scooby-Doo is an alternate universe in its own right?)
Supernatural returns to The CW in January — that’s a long time to wait to get resolution for the cliffhanger so hopefully it ends up being worth the wait.

Supernatural have a very special place in my heart!
I haven’t seen the episode but I’ve been impressed so far with this season.
I can’t believe it’s their 13 season and they are still going strong. They are the second most viewed series on their network. Mind boggling!!
Well done to everyone involved !

Supernatural is the best TV show on the air – in their genre. It has never let me down and is a great mixture of drama, horror, laughter, spooky, goofy, outlandish and fun. Dean is a hoot and Sam is a great foyle for his brother – not to mention they are both gorgeous. Supernatural not only pushes the envelope, they blow right through it. Great show!!!
