What’s new on Amazon for December 2017: Jean-Claude Van Johnson, Class, and more
Much as we’ve done with Netflix (and you can check out their December 2017 schedule here), what we’re going to do here is offer you up some of the highlights that are out there — including why you should give some of them a try.
December 3 – Class. While The Doctor Who spin-off did not perform well enough to earn a second season, there is a good bit of entertainment to be had here. It’s also a good introduction into the Doctor Who world for teen viewers.
December 4 – The Royals. This show has unfortunately made some headlines as of late for some issues off-screen, but the story itself is entertaining and worth your time if you love dramas with a lot of twists and Royal intrigue.
December 8 – The Grand Tour (Amazon original). It’s basically the Amazon version of Top Gear and the fact that it has former Top Gear host Jeremy Clarkson helps with that tremendously.
December 15 – Jean Claude Van Johnson (Amazon original). It’s a ridiculous, funny showcase for Jean-Claude Van Damne doing something very different than anything we’ve seen him do before. If you haven’t seen the trailer below we highly recommend giving it a look.
December 22 – The Last Post. This is an acquisition of the UK series, which revolves around families within the British military trying to find a way to make their lives work in 1960’s Yemen. If the subject matter intrigues you, it’s absolutely compelling viewing.
December 23 – Teen Wolf. In terms of TV this is one of the last super-notable Amazon highlights for the month. This is a chance to ring in the holidays by watching the end of Scott McCall’s epic journey.
While there are some cool programs and movies on Amazon in the month of December, our verdict is that most of you are going to be buying a month of Prime for the free, two-day shipping (though to be fair we tend to get most of our Amazon items in two days even without it). We’d argue that Netflix probably has the better December lineup.
