The perfect Poldark season 4 premiere date — in the UK and the US

What’s the perfect Poldark season 4 premiere date — beyond of course hoping that the show returns tomorrow? That’s what CarterMatt wants to figure out within this article, and that’s regardless of wherever you are residing.

The first thing that we should note, (in the event you did not know already) is that Poldark season 4 is not going to be premiering until the summer at the earliest in the UK. Filming for the show carries through until 2018 and the fine folks at production company Mammoth Screen need some time to get these episodes together to come on the air. It’s not so simple as the show just putting the story together with duct tape, throwing it on television, and calling it a day. Even with a show with less in the way of special effects, these sort of things take time.

Based on when the show premiered the third season — and taking out of the equation the idealized dream of Poldark airing at the same time in America as it is the UK (that doesn’t seem to be the priority for the show), we’ve mapped out the dream start dates below. Note that the following is speculation rather than fact — even though we would love to will it into existence.

Poldark season 4 in the UK – Sunday, June 10 2018. This is one day earlier than when the show premiered in the UK this year, and it makes sense for the BBC to keep the series firmly rooted in this time period. It performed well there and you don’t want to do anything to alter what is something that is clearly already working very well for you.

Poldark season 4 in the USA – Sunday, September 23 2018. We would prefer the series to start in late September on PBS than early October, as it did this year. We don’t love the fact that the season finale aired not only opposite the American Music Awards, but also one of the more popular NFL games of the year. It’s bad enough that Poldark is airing in direct opposition to The Walking Dead, one of the highest-rated shows on TV. We know that the shows likely have different audiences, but still!
