This Is Us season 2 episode 10 preview: The fall finale; Randall’s future

When This Is Us season 2 episode 10 airs on NBC next week, you better be prepared for a big Randall story. You also better be prepared for the fall finale. This is the last installment of the show until January and what it’s going to deliver is an emotional wallop potentially like no other.

11/28/2017 (09:00PM – 10:01PM) (Tuesday) : Randall and Beth are faced with a hard choice. Jack takes Randall on a college tour.

So what could this “hard choice” be? If you are thinking about the entire arc of the season so far it could be tied to the character of Deja. Their foster child has experienced many ups and downs since coming into their life and we don’t quite presume that this is going to stop in the near future. She’s someone who has been through a great deal and with that, of course, comes a different array of needs than what other children her age would have. We know that the two parties are doing everything that they can in order to fight for her, but is that going to prove to be enough? What happens in the event that it’s not? These are aspects to this story that could be explored a little bit more.

Beyond that, the flashbacks should help to cement more of the relationship between Jack and Randall, including how he ended up getting on the career path he’s established himself on.

So what about Kevin?

At the end of “Number One,” Kevin stopped by his house to seemingly admit to being an addict and at rock bottom; yet, he learned about Kate’s miscarriage and likely is going to try and mask some of his personal problems for a little while. Whether or not he is able to do that is something we’re going to learn more about as this episode progresses. For the time being, though, it doesn’t appear as though it’s going to be altogether likely for him to spell everything out to Randall or anyone else. Randall’s a smart guy, though, and we do wonder if he will figure it out anyway.
