Madam Secretary season 4: Sneak peeks released for “North to the Future”
“When a Russian dissident flees to the U.S. after contracting smallpox, Secretary of State Elizabeth McCord and retired U.N. Ambassador Kat Sandoval (Sara Ramirez) must work with Russian Foreign Minister Konstantin Avdonin (Yasen Peyankov) to contain the outbreak, on Madam Secretary, Sunday, Nov. 19 at 10:30/9:30c. Only CBS.”
If anything, Elizabeth is going to have her hands full this week, especially judging from the sneak peeks we have for you below.
1st sneak peek – In this first promo, two important things happen here. One, Elizabeth has requested a meeting with Kat Sandoval after seeing her during an interview and was impressed by her. This will mark Sara Ramirez’s return to television after leaving ABC’s Grey’s Anatomy. For fans, this will definitely be a different role for the actress, who played Dr. Callie Torres for 10 years. However, it is very exciting to see how she will be integrated into the show and how she will fit in with Elizabeth’s staff. We know that she is very passionate about her work after an incident where she threw a chair. Either way, we can’t wait for her appearance.
The second thing we learned is that the case-of-the-week involves a Russian ambassador contract smallpox and Elizabeth must decide how to proceed dealing with a disease that doesn’t exist anymore before panic ensures. This case definitely opens our ears. It’s interesting, different, and full of exciting avenues on telling the story. It’s also a great way to show off what Ramirez’s Kat Sandoval is capable of and how she behaves in an environment such as the State Department.
2nd sneak peek – This sneak peek doesn’t feature Elizabeth, however, it does showcase Henry and Jason. As fans know, Jason has a girlfriend who he spends a lot of his time with and as a result, the guidance department informed Henry that Jason is failing two classes. Henry decides to have a conversation with him about relationships, to which Jason believes his father wouldn’t get what he was going through. Jason is in love with his girlfriend and had finally found purpose beyond just doing “pointless school work.” Henry perfectly understands, but that doesn’t mean that Jason can just stop caring about his academics.
It’s a great scene because he shows a natural and authentic moment between father and son. Jason has never been in love before and in some ways didn’t think he’d get a girlfriend and is acting the way he is because it’s his first love. We all have that first love that distracted us from the world and took us away from our friends and families. It’s something we all go through. That’s why we love this scene. We all get it and Henry’s reaction to it was spot on.
