Scorpion season 4 episode 8 video: Walter writes Paige a love song
We know that most of the episode coming up is going to revolve around getting a chance to see Walter, Paige, and the rest of the team taking part in some hijinks at a local Renaissance Faire, however to us the idea of Walter trying to write a love song for Paige is going to be equally entertaining.
As you are going to see within this sneak peek below, Walter is going to do everything that he can in order to make this song appeal to Paige scientifically — he’s researched every love song over the past several decades and figured out what some of the most commonly-used words and phrases are. Let’s just say that they include “love,” “baby,” and them oddly “booty.” (We don’t think Walter’s research is 100% accurate here, but let’s just roll with it.) He then decides to sing his love ballad to Happy, someone who should theoretically know very well about the content in which Walter is talking about given that she is the resident Robin Sparkles of the group.
Walter’s end result is hysterically funny, and it’s not the sort of song that should be ever performed to anyone. Clearly, he’s done a good job of being a student and listening to some of what are popular songs out there in the music scene at the moment. However, that doesn’t mean that the end result is altogether enjoyable. This is a mess — as big of a mess as you are possibly going to find lyrically. Walter, for a guy who has probably not sung all that much in his social life, is a decent singer. His major issue is not being able to belt out a few notes. He just doesn’t have his heart in the song and Happy encourages him to dig deep to find it.
Are we going to hear Walter’s actual love song by the end of the episode? We hope so, given that this has been set up now. To not get the end result after spending so much time being fed some of the hype would be endlessly disappointing.
