Crisis on Earth-X teaser: Latest Supergirl – Arrow – The Flash crossover coming
If you look below (via The CW), you can see what is one of the shortest teases imaginable for the event, which is going to throw Oliver Queen, Supergirl, The Flash, and others into the same space in order tackle who are presumably some super evil versions of themselves. There are a few interesting things that CarterMatt feels is worth pointing out just based on the photo thumbnail in the video below.
1. Oliver is back in the Green Arrow costume! We presumed that John Diggle was only going to wear the suit for a short while and this proves that we were right in thinking that way. With Arrow, it makes sense to get him back in the costume as soon as humanly possible.
2. Alex Danvers is there! While we’ve seen Barry Allen within the world of Supergirl before, this is the first time that we’ve really seen a character from Supergirl (other than Kara) elsewhere with some of the other superheroes. We still want to see the techie convention with Will, Cisco, and Felicity in the same room.
3. Why is nobody talking about the new White Canary costume? It hasn’t gotten anywhere near the same attention as the new versions of the Flash costume or some of the makeovers for Dinah Drake or Wild Dog on Arrow. We get that Legends of Tomorrow isn’t exactly the most newsworthy of the shows, but still! This is a very cool costume! For the record, the poster above is old, but The CW hasn’t revealed a new one for the crossover event just yet beyond something super-stylized and not in the vein of what we know the show to be.
The Crisis on Earth-X crossover event is going to air across two nights over four hours — Arrow will be moved to earlier in the week in order to accommodate this. This crossover event is also going to make Supergirl into a proper edition of the crossover after the show last year had a tacked-on ending, but nothing else that really had anything all that much to do with the crossover as a whole.
Also, we’re hoping that the likes of Dark Arrow and Overgirl (the presumed Earth-X versions of some of our established heroes) do prove themselves to be a little more compelling than the Dominators last year. They may have been intimidating, but at the same time they weren’t altogether interesting from a story perspective and it still felt a little bit weird that Arrow celebrated its 100th episode right in the middle of all of that. It should’ve had its own separate moment in the sun.
