The Late Show pulls Jeremy Piven interview; Cassidy Freeman shares her story
While CBS said recently in a statement that they are investigating the claims against Piven, for the time being Wisdom of the Crowd remains in production on its original 13-episode order. The show recently received an order for three more scripts, but they may not end up going into production depending on the ratings and whatever CBS determines as a result of this scandal.
Meanwhile, another domino has since fallen since the original reports in that an interview featuring Piven on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert will not air as it was once planned. Here is what the show had to say in a statement via Deadline:
“Jeremy Piven’s interview for Friday’s broadcast was pre-taped earlier this week on Monday, October 30. Since we were unable to address recent developments in that interview, we are replacing that segment with a new guest.”
The reality here is that even if the allegations surrounding Piven were out there at the time of the interview, the odds are still fairly low, (at least per our estimations) that it would have been a subject of conversation at all on the show. Why is that? Piven probably would have canceled given that there is no way to have this interview (originally meant to promote Wisdom of the Crowd) without addressing some of the stories in the press.
For the time being we will have some additional news regarding Piven and this situation as some of the news starts to come out. If you want to keep up to date with all that we cover here at CarterMatt, a great way to do that is to join our Facebook group at the link here. (Photo: CBS.)
