The Walking Dead season 8 episode 2 preview: Who is Morgan targeting?
The premiere of The Walking Dead felt like another win in Rick’s column as they destroyed Negan’s compound and sent many of the Saviors scattering into the wind. He clearly wasn’t as prepared for Rick’s well thought out attack as he though he was since Negan typically rests on the fact that he has the numbers. He didn’t expect Rick to use a walker army to help increase his own numbers. Everyone got out of this situation alive, but when Gabriel was left behind (after deciding to try to save that weasel Gregory) he is left alone in a dark room with Negan. While Negan resorts to his go to when in these types of situations (threats of violence), we are expecting that Gabriel might not be on the chopping block. What we at CarterMatt want to see happen is a deeper conversation between the two of them about this new world and how faith might still play a role in it. We don’t expect either of them to change their views, but the conversation will be TV gold.
The new preview we have for you below looks to be throwing us back into the battle as we see Morgan, Jesus, Tara and Diane facing a zombie moat protecting a building. Who’s inside? From the dialogue between these characters we want to think that it’s Negan. Morgan is talking to Diane about getting just one clear shot and that if she misses the target everyone will come out shooting. Sounds like a Negan situation to us – although to be fair we think that anyone that gets an arrow in the head (or in the knee if you’re a Skyrim fan) will send out the swarm with their guns lighting up the joint. This group has their work cut out for them to say the least.
