Outlander season 3 episode 7 photos: Fergus, Young Ian, and more

Some of the first Outlander season 3 episode 7 photos are now officially available via Starz, and they give us a sense of many exciting things!

The one at the top of the article reminds us that this episode, entitled “Crème de Menthe,” is going to be arguably the biggest yet for Fergus. You got a small sense of Cesar Domboy’s interpretation of the character during “A. Malcolm,” but two out of the four photos that are out there for this episode at the moment feature him alongside Young Ian Murray (John Bell). These two characters are going to be essential to the story now moving forward — they are tied to Jamie Fraser’s operation, which isn’t exactly a typical print shop and faces some serious trouble — trouble that we got a small taste of on this past episode. No matter where Jamie is or what he is doing, this is a man who cannot seem to get away from problems at one point or another.

For Fergus in particular, we know that he isn’t just someone riding on youthful energy and passion as he gets into this job and tries to do his best at it. He knows very well the dangers that go along with working with Jamie — he lost a hand as proof of it. Maybe Young Ian could have a certain degree more of naiveté, but we doubt it because of the people he’s working with. All he has to do is look at Jamie’s back or Fergus’ hand to know what happens when you cross the wrong people.

Want some good news? At least at some point over the course of Outlander season 3 episode 7 the two characters will share a friendly drink! The next image is proof of that.

As for the other images…

These two are based on Claire (Caitriona Balfe), who will still be experiencing this new world in the aftermath of her return to the 18th century.

This first image features Claire with a serious look of concern on her face back on the streets of Edinburgh. This is one of those fun photos to speculate about given that you are really just looking at one frame of a scene. There are so many more things that could be going on here and we just don’t see them, thanks to this being such a tiny slice in the overall story. (We’ll leave it to you to speculate what Claire is witnessing here.)

The second photo features Claire alongside Alison Pargeter as Margaret Campbell, a woman who will be very much important both in this episode and in the journey that eventually brings Claire to a very different part of the world. Isn’t the show doing a nice job when it comes to introducing some of its new faces at the moment? They’re not giving you all of them at once, which is valuable given that it spares you from a sudden deluge.
