Legends of Tomorrow season 3 episode 4 preview: Enter young Ray Palmer

Legends of Tomorrow season 3 episode 4

Legends of Tomorrow season 3 episode 4 will be airing on The CW on Halloween night, and all things considered this sounds like a creepy case. The title here is “Phone Home,” and this story seems to be very much a combination of Stranger Things and ET. This episode will bring you back to an age of nostalgia, and to go along with that introduce you to a younger version of Ray Palmer. Not only that, but this version of the character will have become friends with a young Dominator.

Hey, the Dominators are back! Wait … do we like the Dominators? Not really, but a big part of what makes this story interesting is that it’s a younger, presumably more innocent version of the character. We don’t get the sense that this is an alien who is altogether invested in the destruction for the world.

For a few more details as to what’s coming, just take a look at the Legends of Tomorrow season 3 episode 4 synopsis below:

HELPING ONE OF THEIR OWN – The Legends learn that Ray Palmer (Brandon Routh) will die because they broke time, causing them to race back to 1988 to try and save his life. When they arrive, they are surprised to learn that young Ray Palmer has befriended a time-displaced baby Dominator putting him in harm’s way with the government and the Dominator’s mother. New to the ship and missions, Zari (Tala Ashe) must find her place and learn to trust the team. Meanwhile, Stein (Victor Garber) begins working on a secret project on the ship which makes Rory (Dominic Purcell) and Jax (Franz Drameh) suspicious. Caity Lotz, Maisie Richardson-Sellers and Nick Zano also star. Kevin Mock directed the episode written by Matthew Maala (#304). Original airdate 10/31/2017.

This episode feels for the most part like it’s going to be fun, but simultaneously we do have a sense of fear about whatever we’re going to be seeing Martin Stein working on. Remember that Garber is going to be leaving the show at the end of the season. With that, we are absolutely starting to speculate about his future; that there’s a good chance that we could be learning about what could cause the character to depart in the weeks/months to come. Better to start preparing for it now.
