Chicago PD season 5 episode 7 spoilers: A big Jay Halstead episode

We’ve told you in the past that there would be a big Chicago PD episode that touched on Jay Halstead’s military history. Now, we can confirm that Chicago PD season 5 episode 7 will be this very episode. His time as an Army ranger is going to be useful for the sake of solving a case, mostly because nobody else is going to have the history undercover needed in order to ensure that a job gets done.

This episode is entitled “Care Under Fire,” and the synopsis below gives you not only the air date, but scoop on a wide array of different things:

11/08/2017 (10:00PM – 11:00PM) (Wednesday) : HALSTEAD GOES UNDERCOVER TO STOP AN EX-MILITARY KIDNAPPING CREW FROM KILLING AN INNOCENT CHILD. In the wake of several gang-related child abductions, Intelligence must race against time to find a kidnapped boy. Owing to their swiftness and military precision, the team scours the VA records and tracks the suspects to a former Army Ranger. With his previous experience as a Ranger, Halstead (Jesse Lee Soffer) convinces Voight (Jason Beghe) to send him undercover to try and get information from inside. Also starring Jon Seda, Patrick John Flueger, Elias Koteas, Marina Squerciati, LaRoyce Hawkins, Amy Morton and Tracy Spiridakos. Guest starring Anabelle Acosta, Mykelti Williamson and Carlos Miranda.

For Jesse Lee Soffer this is more than likely going to be a chance to see a great performance from him given that he’ll be able to play a character who is different from himself — basically, he is getting a chance to do something that the vast majority of the Chicago PD cast wishes that they could do every single episode. Even if you love your character you do want to be tested in terms of what you can bring to the table as often as you possibly can.

Beyond just this, meanwhile, you are also going to have a chance to see Voight presumably continue to try and do his best to duck and dodge all sorts of allegations and hurdles coming his way. It’s no coincidence that you keep seeing Mykelti Williamson’s name show up in the guest cast for many of these episodes, given that Denny Woods is going to be more than likely a key cog in the story that seems to be coming up. He knows Voight, and with that knows where some of the metaphorical bodies are buried perhaps more so than almost any other character within the world of this show. What we’re trying to say here is rather simple, and it’s that this character could easily be the one who takes his whole operation down.
