Is Victoria new tonight on ITV? The road ahead for Jenna Coleman series
Unfortunately in this instance there is no more episodes coming for the Jenna Coleman series, largely because the second season as we know it is over. Last week’s season 2 episode 8 was the last episode of the show proper, though there is still one more installment coming in the new year: The Christmas Special! This is the first time that Victoria has tried something like this but we get the feeling that this is something that is going to be really fun and festive — sure, it will also be dramatic here and there (that is what happens with this show), but there will probably be a number of happier moments to go along with it. One of the things that we’ve come to expect from Victoria as of late is a healthy mix of everything you love — romance, action, drama, and heartbreak. It’s historical drama at its finest — even if not every single second of it is historically accurate, it is still entertaining and you often get the sense in spirit of what the ear was like for the queen.
So when will the Christmas Special air? Well, this is pretty easy to explain: Christmas! Granted, we are speaking here more about viewers in the UK — if you are reading this story and you are in America, you’re not even going to see the season 2 premiere until 2018! You’ll be waiting for a little while longer and we hope that you’ll be able to handle that — the Christmas Special probably will not air until you get around to near the end of the year and we figure that this is certainly going to be awkward given that it won’t be the time of year when anyone is thinking about that at the time.
As for the future of Victoria itself in the UK, we’re still waiting to learn for certain that the show is coming back, though it feels like close to a sure thing. While we do imagine that all of the royal costumes are rather costly, at the same time it performs well internationally, gets solid ratings, and has one of the biggest stars of British TV at the moment in Coleman. You’ve got every reason to imagine that the show is going to be coming back based on what we’re seeing/hearing at the moment.
