The Originals season 5: How will the Klaroline reunion happen?

Mrs. Carter: You may already know that the Klaroline reunion is happening on The Originals season 5 — but you may not know how.

Luckily, that stops today, as we do have a little bit more in the way of answers as to what is going to be coming up for the two during Candice King’s brief return to the franchise, which originated for her back on The Vampire Diaries. According to a new report from Entertainment Weekly, Caroline and Klaus are going to meet up in Europe, but it will be hardly in the way of a coincidence. Instead, Caroline is going to be going over at the request of Rebekah for what the website describes as an “intervention of sorts.”

Is it hard to understand that Klaus would have gotten himself into some terrible trouble, all things considered? Hardly, and there are a number of different reasons for this. At the top of the list, though, is probably the mystical curse that has separated the first family of vampires for … well, seemingly always and forever. He will be on another continent rather than near hope, and he cannot spend time with his siblings. We like to think as a romantic that Klaus thinks about Caroline frequently even in the midst of his exile, but there is no way to verify if that is true or not. The only thing that can be is that clearly Rebekah thinks that if there is someone out there who can break through and get to Klaus it is probably Caroline. It’s one of the great loves of his mind, someone he has always wanted but never quite had an actual opportunity to be with when the dust settled beyond just some fleeting moments.

The Originals season 5 could provide some opportunities … but there is also a possibility that some of these could be fleeting, as well. Just remember that King is at the moment only appearing in a couple of the final-season episodes; that could change down the road given that production is still going on, but time will tell there. The one thing that we would like to see is her turning back up in the series finale — if that happens, there is a pretty good chance that the show ends with the two of them together. If it doesn’t happen — well, we feel like you can probably connect the dots here at this point.

New episodes of The Originals will be premiering on The CW at some point in the new year.
