Roseanne Revival: First look at the table read!

Roseanne revival

The official Roseanne revival Twitter account has released a first look at the upcoming series. The photos below show the cast and crew at the revival’s first table read.

From the photos fans should be very excited for the revival of the hit series. Fans can see the cast laughing and smiling as they read through the script, giving fans a hint that the revival will be just as funny as the original. Also in the photo we see some familiar and new faces. The cast includes star Roseanne Barr, John Goodman, Laurie Metcalf, Michael Fishman, Sarah Gilbert, Becky No. 1 and 2, Lecy Goranson, and Sarah Chalke. Chalke has been casted in a new role for the revival. Obviously, one well-known actor in Johnny Galecki, who plays David, is currently on the hit CBS series, The Big Bang Theory.

Also featured in the photos are newcomers Ames Mcnamara, Jayden Rey, director John Pasquin, EPs Bruce Helford, Whitney Cummings, Tony Hernandez and Co-Executive Producer Sid Youngers.

One thing that is significant about the table read is it occurred on the 29th anniversary of the show. An accomplishment that should be sold short. The cast and crew should be extremely pleased that after almost 30 years, fans still want to laugh and cry with Roseanne and her family. Most of the time, fans are content with their favorite shows ending after many successful seasons, so the fact that people wanted this revival is a win for the series.

The revival also has the potential to bring ABC back up in the ratings. The network has a few successful comedies, but with NBC’s revival of Will & Grace and CBS’s original series The Big Bang Theory, ABC needs a show that can reach the hype that both of those shows have. The Big Bang Theory has always faired well with audiences and its probably the most watched comedy on television. Will & Grace, on the other hand, has made a lot of noise after many critics called it funnier than the original, making fans curious enough to turn in week after week. For ABC, the Roseanne revival is a chance for the network to also make some noise.

ABC’s revival will consist of 8 episodes and is set to premiere in 2018.
