The Flash season 4 episode 2 video: Show boss on Barry, Iris in therapy

Flash season 4 episode 2

When The Flash season 4 episode 2 airs on The CW there are going to be many fun things that happen. After all, that’s the point. Going into this season executive producer Todd Helbing noted many times over that one of the goals this time is to bring the show back more or less to its season 1 roots — that includes bringing to the table a fun, lighthearted tone that celebrates The Flash rather than weighs him down.  This is a character now more prepared to be hero and less worried about everything in the past.

However, just because we’ve got a new Barry Allen doesn’t mean that he or any of the other characters are going to be free of any problems in Central City. Instead, one of the big issues, as described by Helbing in the video below, is that he’s not used to the new structure of the team with Iris West serving as the leader. He doesn’t follow instruction all that well and goes rogue here and there.

This is where one of the more entertaining storylines this episode is going to come into play with Barry and Iris in therapy. These are two characters who do need some help sorting through their communication problems, and this venue could serve as a nice means for the two of them to speak their minds in a way where they each feel comfortable. They will have less of a strain put upon them because of everything that happened in their past and will be able to focus more on moving forward. They are engaged and in love, and it feels pretty clear that the show is planning to continue reinforcing that and celebrating the two. At this point in the run there are plans to push WestAllen apart; the writers are coming up with ways to bring them closer together.

So what about the villain at the heart of this story? You’re certainly going to have a rather great chance to meet him! He is one of the most advanced hackers that the team has run up against; as a matter of fact, they happen to be a meta-human who possesses the ability to infiltrate technology. Given that Barry’s new season was just upgraded with all sorts of new technology, this is going to prove rather difficult for him in terms of being able to use it.

For us, this should be a hoot since we’re going to have to watch Cisco figure all of this out. There will be a full review of everything that happens here at CarterMatt later tonight.
