NCIS: New Orleans season 4 episode 4 preview: A perfect Halloween story

Next week on CBS NCIS: New Orleans season 4 episode 4 is coming on the air, and this one will get you in the mood for Halloween! “Dead Man Calling” is the title for this upcoming installment and even that name alone is enough to send a big-time chill down your spine. This should be fun, creepy, and almost everything else that you could possibly want the show to be. By our estimation there are really few better things out there than a super-creepy ghost story that puts some of the characters at the center of a case that would freak most people out.

NCIS: New Orleans season 4 episode 4 synopsis – “The NCIS team investigates the copycat murder of an unsolved case from 150 years ago that spawned a legendary New Orleans ghost story. Also, Gregorio is spooked when the case is connected to a recent séance and a local medium, on NCIS: NEW ORLEANS, Tuesday, Oct. 17 (10:00-11:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.”

This is the second straight episode to feature a good Gregorio story after we saw the tale of her and Eva tonight, but technically they were shot to be spaced out a little bit more. (Remember that tonight’s episode was originally supposed to air a week earlier.)

As for the nature of this case alone it’s pretty exciting. Why? It’s a copycat murder and an unsolved cast, and those two things alone often do make for a really cool, really interesting mystery that brings a lot of different things to the table. Whatever happens here is probably going to be interesting — we’re not altogether sure that it is going to be something that we really have a chance to see addressed in future weeks, but it could be a strong standalone hour and really, that’s all we want with this show sometimes. You don’t really need to ask for a whole lot more than that since the big goal is to get stories that deliver and generate emotional reactions.
