Wisdom of the Crowd episode 2 spoilers: What’s next for Jeremy Piven, cast?

Wisdom of the Crowd episode 2

Is Wisdom of the Crowd a show that needs to be seen to be believed? It’s a question that we’re wondering about entering its premiere episode for a number of different reasons, with one of the biggest ones being that the show hasn’t gotten a whole lot of buzz before tonight. It does have a capable lead in Jeremy Piven, and we will give CBS credit for giving it a chance in the form of a rather excellent timeslot. While the post-60 Minutes spot on Sunday night may alternate all over the schedule, you do have the benefit of airing at a time when there is a large pool of potential viewers.

Do we still contend that the title (it doesn’t roll off the tongue all that well) is the biggest thing holding the show back? Absolutely, but we can’t spend all that much time dwelling on that now. The show’s on the air at this point! Instead, we have to cast the focus more on Wisdom of the Crowd episode 2 and some of how this show is going to further along the story of Jeffrey Tanner (Piven’s character) along with some of the case-of-the-week plots that it has planned out:

Wisdom of the Crowd episode 2 synopsis – “A user of Sophe, the cutting-edge crowdsourcing platform, uploads new footage of Jeffrey Tanner’s daughter, Mia, being strong-armed by an unknown man five months prior to her murder. Also, Tanner enlists Sophe to help with Cavanaugh’s case of a missing teenager, on WISDOM OF THE CROWD, Sunday, Oct. 8 (8:00-9:00 PM, ET/PT), on the CBS Television Network.”

If we were to guess, we’d say that structurally this show is going to follow along the path set by some other recent procedural shows including Elementary or MacGyver. There is a recognition that you need to have a different story every week for the CBS model to work the way the network wants; yet, there’s also an awareness that you can’t just do a different story every week and have people out there still care. Sooner or later they’d just get bored of you and move on to the next thing.
