NCIS: Los Angeles season 9 episode 2 preview: What’s next in ‘Assets’
The first thing worth noting is that in advance of the premiere episode airing, the folks over at CBS are being intentionally mum on what’s going to be coming in the hour. We know that the title here is “Assets,” and judging from the official synopsis below we’ll be seeing some of the team return to business as usual after having to spend part of the premiere wondering how the latest iteration of the team was going to shake out.
NCIS: Los Angeles season 9 episode 2 synopsis – “During the murder investigation of a Navy Lieutenant on leave in Los Angeles, the NCIS team uncovers classified surveillance briefs she smuggled into the city that may have been sold to a foreign buyer, on NCIS: LOS ANGELES, Sunday, Oct. 8 (9:00-10:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.”
The photo above is effectively your proof of two different things that were fairly up in the air at the time in which the premiere airs. For one, you’re going to have a chance to see Sam working on a case, and Deeks is right there with him! While there were at one point some concerns over whether or not he would be sent away, Eric Christian Olsen is clearly still sticking around in some capacity. Isn’t there a lot to celebrate there? We certainly think so.
Now that we’ve put all of that out there, this case sounds interesting enough given that it’s a murder case linked to a larger conspiracy. With this show, you never quite know what could become a storyline that lasts on and off for many episodes at a time. That’s why such things need to be front-of-mind even if you see the information above and automatically assume that we’re going to have a story-of-the-week case coming up. The big thing to celebrate for now is that there is going to be a whole lot of great stories back on the air! It was a long hiatus, and we’re very much excited to dive back into this once more.

The promo for NCIS: Los Angeles season 9 episode 2 focused mostly on the case of the week, which revolved around the death of a prominent Navy Lieutenant (as mentioned) who may have had some secrets. there were people with a motive potentially to kill her, and the main sticking point of tension for the team is this: They need to act quickly, since eyes are going to be on them thanks to the nature of this case.
