Dancing with the Stars 25 elimination: Was Debbie Gibson or Nick Lachey sent home?

Dancing with the Stars 25 elimination

The second Dancing with the Stars 25 elimination aired on ABC Tuesday night, and there was one question that we had going into it: Was there a chance that we’d see an exit anywhere close to as heart-wrenching as the one we got the night before? The idea of losing Barbara Corcoran makes us tremendously sad, mostly because she’s a delight … also, Keo Motsepe finds himself gone way too early almost every season.

Last night, we’d argue that Nick Lachey, Drew Scott, Derek Fisher, and Debbie Gibson all needed to do more in an effort to keep themselves on the show for a while longer. Unsurprisingly, it was Nick and Debbie who were left to sweat it out for the vast majority of the night. Both have a lot of talent, but only one person could stay.

In the end, the public vote ultimately decided that it was going to be Debbie who left, and we cannot say that we are altogether surprised about this at all. Think about it this way: This is someone who’s already done a ton of other reality shows, and hasn’t done that well on all of them. Her scores were okay, but if she didn’t go home here, the reality remains that she probably would’ve went home at some point not too long past this part of the competition.

The person who we probably feel the worst for at the moment is Alan Bersten, who waited for such a long time to get his own celebrity partner only to go home this early. We do think that he will have another chance down the line, so he just needs to stay committed and try to work hard on some more routines coming up! We’ve seen over the years that for a wide array of different reasons, it’s pretty hard to crack the upper echelon of pros on this show with the likes of Maks, Mark Ballas, Peta Murgatroyd, and others. Yet, they all started somewhere, and this was his chance to get his foot in the door early on.
