Bull season 2 episode 2 spoilers: A key Freddy Rodriguez story

Bull season 2 episode 2

Entering Bull season 2 episode 2 — let alone the remainder of the season — you will see a specific focus from the writers. After focusing to a great extent on the cases for the first season of the show, the focus will be shifted more towards the characters this time around. While you’ll get plenty of them in their natural courtroom environment, you’ll understand more of how they think and feel — especially when they come up against issues that challenge them.

This upcoming October 3 episode entitled “Already Gone” will be an important episode for Freddy Rodriguez and his character of Benny Colon. You’ll understand more of what can hold him back from time to time in cases; specifically in this instance, he may object to the religious beliefs of a defendant Bull assigns him to help. Take a look at the synopsis below for more insight.

Bull season 2 episode 2 synopsis – “Bull impulsively agrees to have Benny represent Adam Harris (Sam Vartholomeos), a young man charged with murder for helping his terminally ill girlfriend end her life, a decision which clashes with Benny’s religious beliefs.”

The first thing worth saying here is that we very much admire the Bull writers for even trying to take on this subject. Religious issues are always going to be hot-button topics, and it really doesn’t matter so much if we’re talking about 1997 or 2017. You’re going to get people talking, and giving Rodriguez this sort of complicated material could help him hit the ball out of the park. Is there a way for Benny to represent this man without compromising what he believes in? This could lead to a huge spike in tension between him and Michael Weatherly’s character, and we almost hope that it does given that these guys need conflict and Bull needs to realize every now and then that his way of doing things is not often the right way in order to get them done.

If you’re looking forward to more personal cases featuring these characters, know that more will be coming up down the line for Marissa and others.

The Bull season 2 episode 2 promo

After tonight’s great premiere, we had a chance to get a better sense of what’s ahead. Granted, this was a lot more comedic than anything we’ve touched on so far. In what’s a sign that the show is playing up his sillier side, Jason apparently forgets the name of the client he is representing in Adam.

What do you want to see for Benny on Bull season 2 episode 2, and do you want to see the show continue to take on such difficult subjects? Let us know your early thoughts on the story in the comments!
