How Chicago PD season 5 premiere writes out Sophia Bush’s Lindsay
Want additional insight? Then take a look below:
“Lindsay has moved to New York- and the CPD is under scrutiny about the corrupt nature of its institution. Under the watchful eye of the city, the team attempts to bust a gun deal that quickly turns dicey when innocent civilians and children get involved. Tension erupts when Chief Lugo (guest star Esai Morales) brings in Denny Woods (guest star Mykelti Williamson) to review the shootout, and Halstead (Jesse Lee Soffer) becomes a key player in the outcome of the case. Also starring Jason Beghe, Jon Seda, Patrick John Flueger, Elias Koteas, Marina Squerciati, LaRoyce Hawkins, Amy Morton and Tracy Spiridakos. Guest starring Nick Gehlfuss and Wendell Pierce.”
The show likely realizes that there’s no real merit in stalling too much on Bush leaving the show, largely since that’s just going to remind people that she’s not there and it’s depressing. There’s also not really all that much to discuss given that Bush hasn’t commented on her exit and it doesn’t feel as though she will. For the sake of beating a dead horse in this conversation topic, it’s better for us at CarterMatt to move on just as it is for the show to move on using the plot device that they came up with at the end of this past season for writing the character out.
The remainder of the episode should provide plenty of good drama to keep you psyched for what’s coming with the remainder of the characters. We reported recently via the first promo that Nick Gehlfuss would be appearing via Chicago Med, and it has to do with a shooting that leads to Jay Halstead being in hot water. Did he really shoot an innocent girl? That’s what he seems to be accused of, and he’s going to have to find back against that. There are some good things coming in terms of guest stars, given that you are getting two extremely capable performers in Morales and Pierce on board the story to help tie things together. If you love Jesse Lee Soffer, the one big of good news is that he’s probably going to have a chance to give an incredible performance within this episode.
What do you think about how the premiere is handling the Lindsay situation?

What’s left to say? Now that Lindsay’s gone I find my interest in the show ebbing away. Not sure if I’ll watch it ever again.
