Big Brother 19 episode 28 review: Was Mark Jansen, Matt Clines evicted?
What did we see while we waited for the inevitable Mark eviction was a lengthy interview package with Julie Chen, some strategy leading led by the guy (hey, he tried), and then finally a hometown segment (first all season!) where we saw Jason’s family and saw how long they’ve been waiting to tell him that his wife is expecting a child.
Then, Mark’s eviction actually brought a little more drama than we expected. Both Alex and Jason decided to vote to keep him and evict Alex, but to us it feels pretty clear that they were sympathy votes. Still, it’s better than going in unanimous fashion and maybe this helps to get the two of them a little more love in jury. (Still, Matt can’t be all that pleased with it, right? This should be his biggest indication that he is in some jeopardy moving forward.)
Mark was completely ALL OVER THE PLACE with Julie Chen. We’re not sure that he actually answered any more than one or two of her questions because he was rambling so much, but we will say still that this was a pretty memorable/entertaining exit interview in comparisons to some other ones we’ve seen this season. Julie seems to be especially taken with the Mark/Josh relationship; is this the first time that we’ve ever seen her openly campaign for an Amazing Race team together?
We like Mark a lot as a person and a player in this game, and his biggest weakness is mostly just that he’s not emotionally built for it. He just doesn’t have it in him to be mean and nasty; he’s a sweetheart, and we think that he’s probably better suited as a fan than a player. Still, he brought SO much more to the show this season than the majority of the other people still in the game. You can combine Matt and Raven eight times over, and Mark is still more interesting.
The Head of Household Competition
Tonight, it’s a battle for endurance! It also has a thing or two to do with baseball. The remaining houseguests are all forced to stand around in buns for as long as they possibly can, and they will of course be thrown various obstacles and distractions. This is a thousand percent over the sort of competition that plays well on the feeds, which is why we’re glad to be giving you some more updates on it over the course of the night!
