Big Brother 19 live feed spoilers: Mark, Paul clash over Cody (day 64, evening)
At this time tomorrow, Mark’s going to be evicted from the house … and he’s currently spending a good chunk of his time arguing with Paul over Cody. The thing we’ve said all along with Mark is that he’s a nice guy, and outside of the house, we’d probably like to grab a drink with him more than almost anyone else this season. Unfortunately, he’s just not built for this game. He’s not cutthroat or mean; he’s emotionally vulnerable, and he doesn’t react well to being torn up or being intentionally mean to anyone.
This is why Mark cannot stand all of the Cody-bashing that is still going on in the game. He and Paul were at odds over it tonight. Paul pointed out that Cody wasn’t all that nice to him (true), but Mark argued back that Paul and the rest of his minions have made many personal comments about him, while in turn Cody has made many personal comments about him. This is a never-ending cycle, but Paul is the one in the game right now and we’ve certainly seen enough of him through two seasons to know that he talks a lot of smack about other people and he does bring gameplay to a very negative place.
The good news for Mark is this: Jury should be a better environment for him over the next seven days, given that he will have a chance to hang out with Elena and Cody and get away from some of the game nonsense. Whoever joins those three, however, will get a lot of glares and “I told you so” comments from everyone else. One of the big reasons why the rest of Paul’s team has stuck around is because they all seem to think that they are going to go to the end of the game with each other. The unfortunate news there is that this is just not going to happen. People are going to get hoodwinked, and right now it seems as though Jason is the most likely candidate for that. He’s a big challenge threat, but what makes blindsiding him now a little more challenging is that he may be aware he’s a target. We got a sense of that with him winning the Veto on tonight’s episode.
For the record, right after the Mark conversation we saw Alex, Paul, and Josh sit around and talk about how Mark and Cody are similar … basically, a chance to bash Mark after they just spent some time talking to him about their tendency to bash Cody. There’s not much going on in the house at the moment other than petty drama and houseguest-bashing. Alas, that’s just the part of the show we are in.
