The Bachelor: Mike Fleiss trolls everyone on Peter Kraus candidacy

Mike Fleiss

It’s that time of year again, the one where The Bachelor creator Mike Fleiss starts to troll us all on future franchise stars.

In a new post on Twitter today (see below), Fleiss seems to strongly infer that there could be a problem with Peter Kraus in the lead role — he may not be ready to “settle down with a woman he loves.” This is a clear reference to Peter’s hesitancy to propose to Rachel Lindsay at the end of this past season of The Bachelorette, one of the problems that seemed to lead to him not being the recipient of the final rose at the end of the season. There’s still no doubt that this is one of the most painful breakups in show history, and why so many people are probably so passionate about Peter getting another chance.

In the event you haven’t seen some of Fleiss’ tweets below, the guy is totally snowing you. This is someone who’s “claimed” on Twitter in the past that he was meeting with Amy Schumer for the Bachelorette role and that he was talking to Tim Tebow. These tweets mean nothing other than that he’s a master promoter. He’s trying to get people riled up for something that is going to be insanely predictable. There’s no real drama to Peter getting the role if he wants it this year, so he’s gotta figure out a way to get people talking about the reveal before it happens. Compare this to the McGregor – Mayweather fight coming up: Everyone’s got a pretty good feeling as to who’s gonna win, but they’re selling the heck out of it so much that people will still buy tickets.

There is one other issue that we have with the characterization of Kraus: We don’t think of him as a guy at all who struggles with commitment. We think of him more as someone who’s just trying to figure out if he really loves someone before getting down on one knee to propose, and it’s hard to do that in this environment. We do feel like this entire process has attempted to shame him in some ways for being a responsible human being, and that’s still so bizarre to us. He’s doing little other than trying to make sure he does things right and doesn’t hurt anyone in the process.

When will the new Bachelor be announced?

Probably at some point over the next couple of weeks. At the latest, ABC will announce it during the Bachelor in Paradise reunion show. Filming for the show will start shortly after that, and should wrap by Thanksgiving in preparation for the show coming on the air in January. This is a show that does have a fairly clear pattern when it comes to how they like to film and put episodes on the air.
