Suits season 7 episode 7 spoilers: Mike, Harvey, and an out-of-control case

When Suits season 7 episode 7 airs on USA in one week’s time, one of the biggest things you will see is a case starting to spiral. Mike Ross has done everything he can to get justice for the prisoners who faced all sorts of unspeakable abuse. However, in the process what he’s learned is that in doing this, he also has to face the realization that he could be out of a job. He’s going against Harvey Specter’s advice, and he is endangering potentially the future of Alex Williams, Harvey’s still-recent hire. While we haven’t seen Dule Hill in every episode of this season, he does still have a role to play. (We like to picture Hill jumping back and forth on flights to film this role coupled with what he’s doing on Psych: The Movie.)

Below, you can get some additional news regarding the sense of desperation that Mike has to keep the case from going under … while we learn in the process just how high the stakes are for Alex to go along with it. He may be a little more involved from the other side of the case than he first let on.

Suits season 7 episode 7 synopsis – “Harvey learns the scope of Alex’s involvement in the prison case, while Mike races to keep it alive. Lipschitz forces Louis out of his comfort zone. Donna struggles with her work/life balance.”

The Louis / Lipschitz story is one that we’ve enjoyed more than we thought that we would. When the news about this was first brought up, one of the initial reactions that we had was that this was going to be relatively similar to what we’ve seen already with Harvey and Dr. Agard. Yet, Aaron Korsh does seem to have a knack for telling stories about therapists and clients that allow you to understand both perspectives in addition to the notion that therapy doesn’t exactly cure someone overnight. Louis needs to relinquish a little bit of control, and it’s possible that, over time, he will be able to do that better. Rome wasn’t built in a day, and neither is his ability to cope with his surroundings and not fly off the handle.

As for the story with Donna … well, you could apply this to almost any character on the show and it would make some sense. One of the biggest reasons that she is struggling with this balance right now may stem from the reveal about Harvey and Paula’s relationship. She may have thought that she was okay, but she actually found herself lying to cover up her surprise — this is not a position that she often finds herself in on this show. It’s therefore something that she may struggle with in the weeks to come.
