The Simpsons: Fox CEO doesn’t see an end to the show anytime soon
According to IGN, she believes there’s a lot more to tell:
“I never want to be [at Fox] without The Simpsons. Jim [Brooks] and Matt [Groening] have so much excitement and enthusiasm and they keep innovating. The stories are so fresh, I really don’t see an end to that storytelling. It’s certainly not one… something that we’ve discussed.”
It’s not everyday you get to renew a show for season 30 and Walden believes the secret to the long-standing show is that it’s always willing to experiment with new concepts and ideas:
“They have a lot [of new ideas for special episodes]. Jim loves new technology, he’s spent time meeting with Google. He’s experimenting with a lot of different things.”
It’s also a great feeling to have this kind of confidence from a CEO of a network. It’s not often that the person in charge says that they don’t ever want to be at the network without said series, so the series should be honored.
The Simpsons has always been that crazy funny show that you can’t help but watch because no matter what, it always bring a smile to your face. We hope that the show continues to experiment. Some past experiments include, the live Homer Simpson segment and a VR couch gag in episodes that aired last year.
Whatever the reason may be, fans have loved this show for many years and will undoubtedly continue to do so. We are sure fans can expect a great season and one that will be just as successful as the previous ones.
For fans, it was announced recently at the San Diego Comic-Con that the series DVD releases will continue, starting with Season 18 later this year. The rest will follow shortly after. In addition, creator and EP Matt Groening has a new animated series coming to Netflix on 2018.
Groening’s new series will no doubt be a highly anticipated one, given the success of The Simpsons, we are excited to see what Groening is developing for audiences now.
