Ratings: Power season 4, The Bachelorette, and The Strain season 4
The biggest winner of the shows we’re discussing here may very well be Power for one simple reason: The fact that the ratings were steady despite airing against Game of Thrones. 1.72 million viewers caught the show, which is technically the biggest overall audience of the entire season. That number will obviously increase, given that for now we’re just discussing live+same-day ratings and not even throwing in there DVR data, repeat viewings, or streams.
Power already has a season 5 renewal on tap, but this is just further insurance that the show has a devoted following and isn’t going to be in any danger in the near future. Just enjoy the ride as it keeps going, and know that we’re going to keep presenting more ratings updates along the way.

The latest on The Bachelorette
The news here for Rachel Lindsay’s season is nothing but good, as the latest episode ended up generating overall a 1.6 rating in the 18-49 demographic and over 6.1 million viewers — its best numbers this season in that department. It was its second-biggest demo outing overall.
The reason for the ratings rise seems to be for the most part due to some of the drama hyped around the hometown dates. This is typically one of the most popular times for any edition of this show, since you are getting more of an organic view of some of the people who are out there in the world and what they are up to — let alone how they feel about the show and the process. Do we feel like production didn’t do Dean and his family any favors by bringing them together? It feels that way, but we’re not someone in much of a position to really judge. We’re just glad that the show is getting a chance to post some better numbers at the moment.
As for The Strain season 4…
We were certainly worried about the final season of the FX series also being swallowed up by the Game of Thrones machine, given that it premiered mere minutes after the HBO show ended. Luckily, it does appear as though many of those viewers may have been able to flock back over in plenty of time. Overall the episode ended up drawing a 0.5 rating in the demo and 1.44 million viewers in the live numbers. The premiere actually surpassed the one from last season in the latter measure and is up versus the season 3 average at the moment. Given that this was the premiere, though, it feels wrong to put too much stock into that right now since things can and will almost surely change as time goes by.
