America’s Got Talent video: The Dancing Pumpkin Man returns

The fact that Dancing Pumpkin Man is still a thing is astounding in its own right, but there’s no denying him at this point. He’s a part of America’s Got Talent this season, and beyond that, we know him to be incredibly entertaining. He’s silly, irreverent, and probably not all that talented beyond his ability to boogie around on the stage wearing a mask.

Yet, somehow we don’t quite mind watching the guy, and we’re already incredibly disappointed that Heidi Klum buzzes him in the sneak preview for the episode below (via Entertainment Weekly). Does she not understand the brilliance of the Pumpkin Man? Clearly, the answer to that is no given that she is absolutely missing out on some great/stupid fun here.

Conspiracy corner – Is Simon Cowell going to be anywhere near as harsh on him now that guest judge Chris Hardwick has pointed out that he is an “internet meme legend”? Keeping the Dancing Pumpkin Man on the show, at least until the live shows, is a good way to get more attention. He’s obviously never going to win, and at this point, we wouldn’t be all that mad if he ended up taking the spot of a singer or someone else who we’ve seen on the show a million or so times already.

As for whether or not we see him getting a Golden Buzzer from Hardwick, probably not. Still, we’re not ruling him out by any stretch of the imagination. This show should be very fun, and we’re glad that the Judge Cuts round of the show still exists since it gives us a golden opportunity to get to know some of the variety acts better. We know that there is a ton of criticism around the judges all giving singers their golden buzzers, but one caveat there is that this move allows us more time to give camera time to variety acts this week. We’re glad about that, since dancers, comedians, magic acts, and more are all the lifeblood of the show.
