Shadowhunters season 2: Dominic Sherwood on Paul Wesley episode
In some ways, Shadowhunters was the perfect venue for Wesley to flex some of these muscles. He’s definitely familiar already with supernatural stories, and his show was a fairly similar style in terms of its content. He could relate to what many of the people in the cast are also going through, given that the cast are all pretty instant superstars now with enormous social-media followings.
It’s also pretty clear that the cast was equally excited to work with him on this episode. The quote from Dominic Sherwood (Jace) to TV Guide is further proof of that:
“He gets it. He gets the dangers and the powers and the abilities that we have. He understands all of that, so it’s really great to work with someone who has this kind of database of knowledge already.”
So what is Monday’s episode going to be about? Well, romantic angst is going to be at the center of much of it, and this is something that Wesley knows very well as a result of playing Stefan Salvatore for so many years. Jace and Clary are going to be spending a great deal of time together on a new mission, but what makes this complicated is that they haven’t spent all that much time as a unit since what happened at the Seelie Court. The two of them know on some level that this wasn’t just some ordinary kiss – clearly, Simon was also aware of it and is still struggling in the aftermath of it. Jace’s feelings for Clary are pretty darn clear at this point, and we just have to get to the point now where she determines of where she stands.
Beyond this, we do of course anticipate more of the evolution of Sebastian. Over time, he’s become revealed to be more of a psychopath, and as of the most recent episode, he’s not even the same person that everyone thought he was. He has significant ties to Valentine, and he’s going to be a major problem that all of the Shadowhunters will have to combat in due time.
