Blindspot season 3: what will happen after the time jump?
As fans saw season 2 ended with a two year time jump with Jane living in the mountains with monks leaving the FBI and her love, Weller, behind for unknown reasons. However, Weller shows up wearing a wedding ring with a sealed box for Jane. The box contained a metallic object which causes Jane’s tattoos to light up. And that’s where it ended.
Talk about intense. Entertainment Weekly recently released some new scoop that executive producer Martin Gero offered up:
“It’s been a few years, but the team will still be somewhat intact when the show returns — although that doesn’t necessarily mean they still work together. The team will be the team again in season 3, but they’ll have really been through a variety of experiences in those ensuing two years that brings a fresh perspective to it. But there is a little bit of needing to get the band back together at the top of season 3. Oh, and Gero teases there may even be some new team members.”
It will be interesting to see how the writers will bring the team back together, if they technically aren’t working together. Will they be brought back together because of the metallic object? It definitely seems like a fair assumption and a logical reason for that reunion to happen.
What also will be intriguing to see is how each of the team members have changed. If they have each had a “variety of experiences” in the time jump that will bring a new perspective to the table, then that pegs the questions, what experiences occurred and how did they change the team? While fans will have to wait to see what these experiences are, our guess is that the fresh perspectives being offered derive from revelations the characters had about clues they may have overlooked previously. Could there have been hidden clues in past episodes? It’s definitely a possibility.
The NBC crime drama returns for season 3 on October 27, 2017. The show stars Jaimie Alexander, Sullivan Stapleton, Rob Brown, Audrey Esparza, and Ashley Johnson.
