Outlander notes: Injuries, books, and Caitriona Balfe – Sam Heughan fundraiser
Seven Stones to Stand or Fall: A Collection of Outlander Fiction from author Diana Gabaldon will be hitting bookstores in exactly one week on June 27, and it features a wide array of stories featuring characters like Master Raymond, Jamie Fraser, and many others. There are even two new stories that have not been published anywhere before! You can read a sample of what’s to come here over at Entertainment Weekly. This will hopefully be enough to tide you over until the show returns in September, and until Gabaldon releases her newest book in the long-running series entitled Go Tell the Bees That I Am Gone.
Now, we transition from good news over to painful news…
Trouble on the final day of filming – Alas, one of the dangers that does come with as ambitious a production as Outlander happens to be is that occasionally, some rough stuff happens. This certainly happened with Caitriona Balfe, who found herself victim of a rather unfortunate mishap that she jokingly blamed Sam Heughan for on Twitter. The two always have a good rapport on such things, just because they both seem very much aware that this sort of stuff can happen in the midst of a crazy day on set.
With that said, here’s to hoping Caitriona feels better soon!
Want to meet Sam and Caitriona? – The information in the tweet below from Outlander Homepage (and also the link here) has all of the insight you need! The quick summary is that there is an event coming in New York City on September 30, and the proceeds for it are going to benefit both Cahonas Scotland and World Child Cancer, charities that are close to the heart of Heughan and Balfe. If you have the funds, this seems like a worthwhile way to spend them, promoting great causes while also building memories that will likely last a lifetime. It’s a different, much more intimate environment than you’ll tend to see at a convention or almost anywhere else.
As always, we suggest that you share some of your thoughts on this story below, and that you also head over to the link here in the event you do want some further news now when it comes to Outlander. (Photo: Starz.)
