Game of Thrones season 7: Could Ser Jorah survive? Iain Glen hopes so
The one thing that we do know at the moment is that Ian Glen is hoping to see his character make it through to the end of the series. In a new interview in publication Raidió Teilifís Éireann (via Winter is Coming), he ultimately had this to say on the subject:
“I definitely want to hang in there, yeah, but I think everyone does.”
Meanwhile, Glen had the following to say in terms of how the show is wrapping things up:
“The story is going toward a conclusion. There’s no sense of treading water. You have storylines colliding. And the evolving drama and relationships are as good as they have ever been. It definitely feels like the beginning of the endgame.”
Based on where the story left off for Jorah on Game of Thrones season 6, the character is absolutely in some serious danger. He’s got grayscale, and he is desperate to figure out how to alleviate himself of it. If he’s able to do that, he may be a key cog in the battles to come. If not, he may not be able to return to his Queen Daenerys (who he also happens to love) before we get to the end of the series.
Given that Jorah is one of the stronger characters on the entire franchise, we have to hope that he finds a way to survive. He’s also one of the characters who has been around from the very beginning, so from the standpoint of history alone, it’s nice to have him. One of the big questions to wonder, however, is just how much time we’re going to have in order to spend on this character when you consider for a moment that there are only seven episodes, and therefore only so much stories that the show is going to be able to fit in there, even with a small cast now than in past seasons.
