Better Call Saul season 3 episode 8 spoilers: Howard trolls Kim

Better Call Saul season 3

As the video HERE from Better Call Saul season 3 episode 8 seems to be eager to prove, nobody is exactly willing to make life easy on Kim Wexler. Instead, they’d rather just turn every aspect of it as difficult as humanly possible.

As you can see, much of the latest preview is spent watching Howard Hamlin troll the heck out of Kim in front of her clients Mesa Verde, more or less reminding these people that without HHM, Kim wouldn’t have gotten a chance to be where she is today. The implication here is not something that you need a lot of effort to figure out: He wants to make her look weak and inept at her job. He certainly imagines that there could be some trepidation already on the part of Mesa Verde, given the fact that Kim’s representing Jimmy McGill, a man whose actions have already clouded the waters in the first place. It’s unwanted attention on the company, and it doesn’t matter how much of a good job she is doing or what she is bringing to the table for the company.

Through scenes like this, the show does seem to be pointing ever so slowly in the direction of Kim losing this company over time, and her relationship with Jimmy after the fact. This is one of the only things that matters to him at this point, and losing her could be the impetus for him finally saying “screw it” when it comes to putting on the persona or even pretending to be a good person anymore. This could be the proverbial straw that broke the camel’s back, and the show has to find a way to show how the heartbreak from Jimmy could turn into this … provided that this is how it happens. It’s hard to imagine how Jimmy would want to become Saul full-time with her around, given that it doesn’t take an expert on body language to know that she was not thrilled when she first heard the nickname for the first time.

While it’s unfair to expect everything and then some to happen during Monday night’s episode, the expectation that we do have for now is for the story of Kim and Jimmy to progress. After all, there are only two more episodes this season!
